Bleasdale Wines, with its rich and colourful history, stands as one of the oldest wineries in Australia with 175 years of continuous winemaking by the direct descendants of the founding Potts family. Bleasdale was founded in 1850 by the extraordinary Frank Potts, making it one of the oldest wineries in Australia. Frank, one of the pioneers of the Australian wine industry, was innovative and had a knack for building things. He built a home, winery, ?oodgates, a lever press, and a dynasty. Bleasdale is now into the fifth and sixth generations of the Potts Family. Bleasdale is in Langhorne Creek, a one-hour drive south-east of Adelaide. The region is uniquely situated on the natural floodplains of the Bremer River, with cooling afternoon breezes from nearby Lake Alexandrina on hot summer days. Bleasdale wines express distinct regional and varietal character. Modern classics with respect for tradition and an eye for the future. The winemaking team’s minimal approach allows Bleasdale wines to retain aromatics and preserve fruit integrity, offering wines with aromatic intensity, generous fruit, and complex flavours with freshness and vibrancy to enjoy in any setting. The Bleasdale estate consists of 38 vineyards totalling 47 hectares in size. Our vineyards are managed with an agile viticultural strategy to thrive in drought or flood. Under the stewardship of Sarah Keough, we are continually adopting vineyard management and winemaking practices that move towards minimal intervention.
