Seppeltsfield was established in the Barossa in 1851 by the visionary Seppelt family. The estate was founded on the belief in the importance of providing a whole community with work, purpose and tenure for life. Today, the fully working heritage-listed winery is undergoing a renaissance. Seppeltsfield’s innovative 1888 Gravity Cellar and surrounding winery buildings have been painstakingly resorted into a modern day village. The Seppeltsfield property encompasses over 420 acres of ancient vineyard, gardens and heritage-listed architecture. A vibrant community of wine, food, craft, design and beauty awaits visitors, highlighted by a multi-award winning Cellar Door, FINO Restaurant, JamFactory Craft + Design studios, DRAGAN Fine Art Photography Gallery and Vasse Virgin skin care. Seppeltsfield is most famed for the Centennial Collection - an irreplaceable and unbroken lineage of Tawny, every vintage from 1878 to today. The estate remains the only winery in the world to release a 100 year old, single vintage wine each year. Seppeltsfield’s winemaking philosophy is guided by four elements, which reflect both our history and our future endeavours. Our wines are handcrafted ultimately for enjoyment, but with an eye on ageability. Our unique 1888 Gravity Cellar plays a significant role in the style of many of our bottlings, and for our still wines, we celebrate the re-imagining of traditional fortified varietals. These elements are grounded in a belief of place over person. Our winemaking team’s primary aspiration is to translate the character of our vineyard sites and each season – in our wines themselves. The Winemaking team is consists of Warren Randall (Executive Chairman and Proprietor), Fiona Donald (Chief Winemaker), Charlie Seppelt (Senior Winemaker), Matthew Pick (Senior Winemaker), Henry Slattery (Winemaker) and Kingsley Fuller (Group Viticulturist).
