Description:: Jan HERESZTYN arrived in 1932 in the north of France to work in the mines, then in the fields… in Burgundy. He ended by setting up definitively in Gevrey-Chambertin, feeling better accepted there than in other villages of La Côte. Through hard work and savings, he started by acquiring a few parcels of vines and ended up with 4 hectares in 1959. This small business was significantly enlarged and consolidated, as the years passed, by his two sons, Stanislas and Bernard, to finally become the Domaine HERESZTYN. Since the 1970s, they have managed it with their respective wives, Ewa and Chantal. Two generations have passed since the beginning of the domain. Florence, daughter of Stanislas, will represent the third, supported by her husband, Simon Mazzini, also a vine-grower in Champagne.

Description:: Domaine Arlaud began when Joseph Arlaud (originally Ardechois) met Renée Amiot (a burgundian woman) during the war. The wedding presents contained vineyards of which Joseph extended in 1949. He also worked as nursery gardener until 1970. From 1970, he spent all his time working in the vines and making wine. Hervé Arlaud succeeded his father in 1982, and extended the holdings of the estate by buying new vineyards. He did alone the wine grower’s work and developed bottle sales. Presently, Hervé works with his three children: Cyprien, who joined his father in 1997, Romain, who began in 2003, and Bertille who arrived in 2004.

Description:: Created in 1955 by Daniel Rion, this family-owned estate began with only two hectares (5 acres) of vines located in the commune of Vosne Romanée, wich wre left to him by his paternal grandfather. Until 1978, Daniel sold his wine to burgundian negociants. At the end of the Seventies, his sons joined their father, bringing new parcels of vines. A new winery is built, with a larger cellar and a tasting room. It is at that time that the domaine developed direct sales in the cellar, gaining a great success with private customers. Since 1995, after Daniel retired his sons deal with the vines and the wines. Today, the domaine consists of eighteen hectares (45 acres) of vineyard, in eighteen different appellations, in six villages of the Côte des Nuits and the Hautes-Côtes : Prémeaux, Nuits Saint Georges, Vosne Romanée, Chambolle Musigny, Vougeot and Marey-les-Fussey.

Description:: This venerable fifth-generation domaine has holdings in the top vineyards of both Volnay and Pommard. Chez Voillot is quite conscientious with their 23 acres of vines. Yields average 36-38 hectoliters per hectare; harvesting is by hand with small bins after a selection in the vineyard, and further selection is made on a sorting table (the selection was especially severe in 2000, 2001, and 2004). It's worth noting that their team of experienced harvesters has remained virtually unchanged for well over a decade. Vinification is done without stems and afterwards the wine is moved by gravity into barrel. In good years, no more than 30% new oak barrels are used for aging the premier crus, and SO2 is kept to a minimum.

Description:: From a long line of winemakers and coopers based in Meursault, I took over the estate in 1982 with my wife, on the property where my grandparents used to live. Over the years, the estate has expanded with the acquisition of new vineyards, as well as the modernization and enlargement of the existing winery buildings. We cultivate an area of 6.5 hectares. Our grapes are the historic Burgundy varietals; Aligoté and Chardonnay for the white wines, and Pinot Noir for the red wines.
