Description:

The first "Old Block" of vines at Coal Valley Vineyard was first planted in 1991 by Drs. Margaret and Gradon Johnston who recognized a good vineyard site when they saw one. Twenty years later the vineyard, with steep slopes facing due north, has a steady track record of producing award winning, elegant, true cool climate wines. Under new management since 2017, the new owners are excited about growing the business and producing the highest possible quality cool climate wines with a focus on Pinot, Sparkling and Tempranillo.
