87 points - Medium dark deep purple red. A little earthbound on the nose, chocolatey, spicy aromas, a little odd, herbal. Smooth, fruit sweet palate, a little overripe.

89 points - Nose is pleasant, quite heady with sour plummy bacon leaf notes. Palate has strong acid and coarse tannins. Finish is ok with roast coffee bean and raisined characters. Second day: definitely improved - works better with food. The acid and tannins are more tempered and managed. Palate and finish show good intense blackberry, spice and leather characters. Finish is quite long with baby sweet confectionary. Nose is spice, fragrant leather and animalic.

90 points - Medium dark colour. Razorsharp barnyard and bacon aroma. Smoky palate, needs more time. Lovelly mouthfeel. Spicy sharp finish initially, not quite in balance. But it smooths out considerably after an hour. Leafy blackberry fruit. I find it a bit one dimensional.
