95 points - Medium dark red purple. Beautiful spiced and dried floral aromas, intense and involving. Juicy, nicely ripe fruit, balanced, some whole bunch phenolics, tannins fine and dissolving. Very good.

2022 Maude Mt Maude Vineyard Chardonnay

90 points - Light gold. Peachy nose. Palate shows quite a bit of oak, a tad worked but boy do you get a mouthful of flavour. A full bodied Chardonnay, buttery and nutty. Give it a year? Or three?

92 points - Medium red, some brown developed shades but also still some purple. Savoury, at first reminiscent of a Nebbiolo or Sangiovese. Stalky. Cherry raspberry with some confectionery but faint. At first the aromatics are subdued, faded, appearing over the hill. The wine is opening up a but as it airs. Give it a bit of time. Quite nice with pumpkin rosemary risotto. Past its best? Maybe. But maybe just in a lull. Try the last bottle in 2026 for a final check. Until then I would err on “drink up”.

88 points - Medium red with a brick tint. Nose is withheld and shy, some herbal, dried seaweed, savoury aromas, a slight suggestion of black cherry. Palate is a little staid, pared back, fruit a bit recessive. Phenolics grip gently but decisively. Fruit not having quite enough power. With some airing, the fruit does come out of the shell.
