90 points - Medium dark red. Hearty, whole bunch those. A bit austere, skeletal on the palate. Definitely needs food. Is it fully ripe? The appeal is in the forest floor, mushroom aromas. Add protein! Later, with food: definitely not austere anymore. Nice balance, spice and power.

89 points - Medium dark purple red. Quite earthbound on the nose, sour cherry aromas, intense and wafting. High acidity, quite wholebunchy, very stalky, a bit skeletal, lacks a bit of freshness and fruit. Seems quite a food style, desperately needs some aged roast duck breast with thyme jus. Has some power though, so perhaps with more time, this will come around? Earthbound.

2016 Two Tonne Tasmania TMV Pinot Noir

90 points - Big strong earthy and black fruits on the nose. Smooth and silky mouthfeel, hits of red current and blackberries come through. I found it to be lingering on the back palate with some tannin, but I felt the flavours dropped off quickly. Overall I had high expectations of this wine (I have read so much, and heard good things) I wasn't disappointed, A good example of a Tassie producer doing great things.
