90 points - Medium dark red brown purple. Nose of tea leaves, mandarin peel and star anise. Not your average Pinot noir. Full of flavour, a bit unusual and slightly “worked” tasting. Orange-chocolate-mint finish. Odd saltiness.

85 points - Golden aged colour. Oak aromas and poached peach. Full on oak flavour, very in your face style. The oak is literally glaring at you, even after seven years. I don’t get many subtleties here, nor complexity. Bold poached quince with spices. There is length and power here. A bit of a caricature? Everything is overdone here. Has its Charme for some, I’m sure. It is making a farce of Chardonnay.

93 points - Pretty pale colour. Nose shows pretty lychee notes, perhaps rose petals too. Palate is remarkably fresh due to well judged acidity. Just off dry, not oily but a lovely refreshing texture, making this a superb accompanist to Asian foods with a bit of spice.
