2019 Curly Flat Central Pinot Noir

92 points - Medium dark unfiltered purple red. Warm and enveloping nose of flowers, cherry and spice, with a touch of sweaty saddle. Palate features quite a thick blanket of grippy, chaffy tannins. Juicy fruit, this needs time to mellow. Tannins are a mite chewy.

94 points - Pale gold with an onion skin tint. Lovely pear, wheat, lees and barrel ferment aromas, worked and complex. Palate follows through with the hints of barrel, good depth and richness. More of that hoppy, wheaty, yeasty flavour, spicy and lengthy, complex and clean. Very nice, winemakerly style.

93 points - Greyish yellow, with the faintest tinge of rose. Some skin contact. Subdued nose: minerals, faint pear and jasmine. Palate offers superb balance: viscous, some refreshing acid, some spices. All in great harmony. Excellent.

92 points - Medium yellow. Complex aromas with hints of lees and butter. Flavoursome palate with depth and finesse, clean and deft with power and richness. Seems ageworthy, showing lots of tension and potential, like fruit waiting to spring out. Hints of lees and barrel ferment. Very persistent. At the moment a bit brash and bold. Needs time to temper down.
