There’s a suggestion of richness, dried apricot and some snuffed candle tones, but I think this is a bit past its prime, a bit tired. It lacks the delightful acidity and sparkling fruit that the best Mosel rieslings have.

Tasted on Sun, Jan 20, 2019.

Cinnamon. All the way carried by vibrant acidity. Long, satisfying. Absolute cracker of a wine! Ideal with food, really comes to life with spicy and oily Asian food: acidity comes out. Carries right through the spiciest of dishes. It's like an aged hunter semillon, just richer. Also reminiscent of a Alsatian style wine.

Tasted on Sun, Oct 20, 2013.

Baby poo aromas develop after a while. Very rounded palate, perhaps a little flabby and almost strangely shapeless. Acidity just there, just enough to peak out of the soft palate. Interesting twinges of acidity though. Good concentration and depth. Full and rich style. Very good with spicy food though. The spice from the food provides the necessary structure for this riesling to sing, soothing, calming, full to settle the tongue. Higher rating with food. Needs time to really reveal itself. Was a little flabby when it was just opened. Nougat oak notes in the finish as the wine airs too.

Tasted on Sun, Oct 20, 2013.
