Powerful palate, full bodied, dense and concentrated, syrupy, a blanket of good tannin, plummy, excellent coverage, deep and long, albeit closed, shut down at the moment. Tight, charry finish. A complete sort of wine though, the palate is one seamless package of voluptuous tannin and fruit, bold and big, yet tingling in its energy. One for the cellar I think, hands off for at least 5 years.

Tasted on Sun, Aug 2, 2015.

Once in the glass the nose shows brooding, thick dark boysenberries lifted by mint. The palate follows on with rich, dark cherry and charred flavours and quality tannins. It needs considerable time to open up. A velvety texture. Calls for big red meat dishes. Needs time to age - I would look at this again in three years.

Tasted on Sun, Aug 2, 2015.
