<p><b>93 points</b> - Deep dark, bright purple red. Aromatic nose of leather and spice, freshly turned earth and plummy fruit. Full bodied, built, succulent and juicy with good palate coverage and length. Delicious and moorish, tannins slightly dusty and sooty. Perfect with tonight’s Spaghetti Bolognese. <p><b>95 points</b> - Restrained nose, some touches of leather and stable, lots of char, hint of spice, with a core of ripe black and blue berries. Great syrupy texture on the palate, black pepper spice, minerally, loads of umami character, meaty, beef extract notes with some subtle twinges of complexity. Very savoury. Excellent. Slightly rustic tannin at first but seems to have softened out with the sous vide scotch fillet. Beautiful plush mouthfeel and dark character on the palate. Some brooding mystery. <p><b>95 points</b> - Earth and leather all over! Quintessential Hunter. Fully ripe, with great fruit expression of full ripe cherry. Tannins adequately cover the palate. Herbs. Umami. Tar. Loads of mineral. Ironstone. Chewy. Still closed after an hour in the decanter. Wow give it 2 hours and it opens up. Tar, lava supporting a core of dark cherry. Unbelievable dark edge to this wine.
