94 points - Dark lipstick red with a brown tinge. Nose is very intense and rich with grilled game, faintly raisined stalky tobacco leaf and capsicum notes. Attack is impressive, acidity and tannins outlining and supporting, and the palate makes itself immediately known. Also slightly cooling with minty notes. Again very intense with natural stalky tannins, the palate evolves quite nicely from front to back. Intense back palate with lingering dark leafy tannins softening into some plush and powdery savoury berry, rose and vanilla notes. Very nice palate development and complexity. Incredible length!

Tasted on Mon, Jan 25, 2010.

93 points - Medium colour. Smokey wood and berries on the nose. Very balanced. Almost herbal peppermint note at the very end. Long finish. The complexity and length are amazing. The remarkable thing is it is so intense one could be mistaken for a light Australian Shiraz.

Tasted on Mon, Jan 25, 2010.
