<p><b>89 points</b> - Dark purple red. Quite stinky initially, and while it dissipates a bit, it remains quite reductive, barnyard-y. Very tense on the palate, austere, acidity is a shock, the tannins strict and unyielding. An old fashioned wine with a real zap of acidity. Needs a lot of time to soften up, or a hearty steak. The finish is all burnt staves. Something to revisit in 10 years. After a couple of hours, the nose cleans up showing some dark purple cassis aromas. Acidity still bright, tannins now stalky, sinewy and wholebunchy, pinching the finish and bringing it up short.</p><p>Tasted on Fri, May 30, 2025.</p>
