89 points - Dark purple red. Quite stinky initially, and while it dissipates a bit, it remains quite reductive, barnyard-y. Very tense on the palate, austere, acidity is a shock, the tannins strict and unyielding. An old fashioned wine with a real zap of acidity. Needs a lot of time to soften up, or a hearty steak. The finish is all burnt staves. Something to revisit in 10 years. After a couple of hours, the nose cleans up showing some dark purple cassis aromas. Acidity still bright, tannins now stalky, sinewy and wholebunchy, pinching the finish and bringing it up short.

Tasted on Fri, May 30, 2025.
