97 points - What a stunner of a cabernet. Charming, aromatic nose of florals mingled with complex woodsy nuances from age. Tannins perfectly judged, integrated and wafting. Effortless and graceful with measured fruit and a textural, soft blanket of tannin. Detailed, and beautifully aged. There’s succulence here, fruit weight and concentration, sweet still.

Tasted on Sat, Aug 20, 2022.

97 points - Dark medium red brown. Mature colour. Complex nose of tar, dried herbs, like a Jägermeister/Fernet Branca. Super balanced and integrated. Outstanding wine and outstanding bottle, cork held up well. Slight mint finish with the dried herbs reverberating.
Good bottles might have another couple of years in them, but why wait? This is perfect now.
With food: had this with wagyu prime rib. The Barossa shiraz was the better match - but this was the wine of the night. It works best with medium to full bodied food, like a filet steak. With a prime rib that has charred notes, it’s a bit mellow. This wine would be right at home with a grilled duck breast, chateaubriand etc.

Tasted on Sat, Aug 20, 2022.
