Palate tightly knit, smooth with very savoury tarry edge, whilst the acidity is so well judged that the wine is almost medium to full bodied. Distinct style. Leather. Has smoothed out significantly after 30min of air exposure.

Tasted on Sat, Mar 5, 2022.

94 points - Deep dark purple red. Sooty, minerally and rocky aromas at first, very savoury, soy sauce notes. Later, more dark plum fruit characters emerge. Rich and dense on the palate with firm, statuesque tannin structure. Very savoury again, rocky, almost saline. Black peppery. This needs much more time to come out of its shell. Good presence and length. Lots of potential.

Tasted on Sat, Mar 5, 2022.

97 points - Bright, staining, glowing, deep purple colour. Densely packed aromas, rich, loamy, plummy and peppery spiced, roasting pan notes. Palate is beautifully balanced, mouth filling, stunningly dense, yet it also shows elegance and restraint, the dense, powerful tannins amazingly well balanced with the beautiful driving ripeness of fruit, very much in the background. This is a formidable wine that shows restraint. Impressive!! Will be long lived.

Tasted on Fri, Nov 15, 2019.

97 points - Astonishing dark purple colour, glowing almost pink at the edges. The nose shows vibrant blueberry and spice characters. The palate follows through with these flavours while adding leathery notes. Superbly balanced, with just the perfect amount of concentration and oak. Finely graining tannins, counterbalancing a highly intense and zippy fruit core. Wow. Will go for a long time.
After an hour: wow wow wow. Chocolate flavours emerge with more savoury leather. Came up from 96.

Tasted on Fri, Nov 15, 2019.
