<p><b>89 points</b> - Very deep colour still with some purple highlights. Smoky cedar, spice, floral, dark fruits with lots of oak some of it new oak. Soft smooth tannin and m+ acid (slightly hard). There is good line with tannins and flavours from front to end palate. The alcohol (m+) is too noticeable, particularly on the finish. The flavours are similar to the nose but with oak dominating more. The wine is concentrated and close on first opening but does open up somewhat. The wine starts great but the finish is just too warm and the flavours turn somewhat stewed on the aftertaste. Good but not great. A difficult vintage.</p><p>Tasted on Tue, Jan 11, 2011.</p>
