<p><b>96 points</b> - Black red. Restrained nose, spicy and savoury. Very cedary and sandalwoody on the palate, very youthful and yet powerful and serious. Full bodied without being overbearing, there's an elegance and lightness to the style. Well boned, structured with powdery, dusty tannins. <p><b>90 points</b> - What an unusual nose: loads of sandalwood, and earthbound notes, liquorice, peanutty, some barnyard animal fur tones too. Palate is a little leaner than expected. For some reason I was expecting more gravitas. Fruit sweetness and its slightly coarse interplay with the acidity takes away any real gravity that this could've had I think. Quite lip smacking, lots of umami character. I think this is a food wine. Tannins lend an overall drying sensation, perhaps slightly hard though.</p><p>Tasted on Mon, Aug 26, 2013.</p>
