92 points - Dark medium red purple. Slightly alcoholic nose. Day 2: much opened up. Fine touch of Fernet. Lovely medium bodied balance. Fine tannins. An elegant wine. Quite drinkable. Needed a lot of time airing.

91 points - Deep dark red. Intense and woodsy nose with touches of stable floor. Rich and intense palate, focussed, sappy, almost wholebunchy characters pervade. There is a touch of bitterness here that linger and benefits from chilling. This was perfect chilled with the black pepper steak tonight.

90 points - Big serious wine. Lots of everything packed in, but a little too much alcohol heat and not enough length. Re-scored down after a later second tasting. A bit unbalanced, and starting to come apart after eight years. Still some fun to be had, though.
