96 points - Deep purple red. Aromatic nose, peppery spice, charming plum like floral notes. A whiff of reduction. Polished and smooth on the palate, beautiful balance of fruit and a hint of chalky tannin, it is lush without being overripe, good phenolic structure and seamless acidity. It is medium to full bodied, a picture of elegance. A satisfying Barossa shiraz that is certainly not in the blockbuster mould. Persistent, the fruit not faded, a touch of mocha tinged, oaky grip in the finish.

95 points - Medium dark red. Dense wine with fine particles, appearing almost a tad cloudy. Spice nose: cloves. Palate the same. Fine tannins, needs time. Blackberries. Needs about 1 hr to open up. Beautiful wine.

95 points - Good deep inky red colour. Dense, tightly wound nose, spicy, a hint of char, caramel, oak, balancing well with the dark skinned plum aromas and a little mysterious. Full to medium bodied yet elegant palate with a wonderful concentration, this wine has certainly developed nicely in the bottle. Some dark cherry liqueur, distinct sweet and fragrant black pepper notes paired with deliciously charming blackcurrant notes. Fine tannins that are just on the verge of softening, have a hint of grip still to them. The ripeness and quality of fruit expression is evident on the palate. A slightly charry, fragrant and lifted, flavoursome, fruit sweet long finish. Utterly delicious.

95 points - Medium dark red. Lovely nose of spices: clove, nutmeg. On the palate the wine shows very good concentration with dark fruit flavours melding together with clove, bay leaf, nutmeg and those potpourris of spice often found in bolognaise. It's got some acidity spike similar to that found in brambles, or even more so in plums. Wonderful wine, really enjoy it. It has improved since I last tasted it. Has aged well and has a long future ahead.

92 points - Hints of spice on the restrained nose. Palate is tightly wound still, balanced though and strangely calm tasting. Perhaps a little shut down at the moment. Holding its cards close to the chest, I think this needs more time now. Good density of fruit, well balanced against the oak.

95 points - Chalky, savoury, sweet ripe aromas, some dried prunes, fruitcake and hints of oak. Lovely concentration on the palate, full bodied, fleshy and yet not overbearing. Fine dusty tannins support the palate, provide a touch of cleansing astringency and spiced complexity that reverberates along with the long finish. Could live on for a while.
