Later, with air: creamy chicken, but also cacao-esque aromas. Super complex. Outstanding wine. Quintessential Chardonnay, archetypal.

Tasted on Tue, May 14, 2024.

Not much primary fruit flavours present here at all.

Restrained nose which eventually reveals developed chicken stock aromas, vanilla oak, almond meal, a touch of sulphide, musk after a while. Not fruit driven at all. Lots of acidity, almost effervescent, that evolves on the palate into mellowed nutty oak. A lovely wine. Very structural, nicely detailed in terms of evolving and involving shape and texture in the mouth. Needs lots of time to open up. Acidity is really lovely in the finish, tight, vital and sizzling. Second day, it hasn't improved. Acidity a little more obvious. This wine needs food to lift it up.

Tasted on Sat, Sep 20, 2014.
