Rich, deeply flavoured and dense on the palate, tannins some what gravelly and dusty, leather and savoury notes reverberating. Very good. Would live much longer.

97 points - Deep red. Densely packed, coal dust aromas, minerally and latent, leather notes. Medium to full bodied, fresh acidity keeps the formidably structured palate appearing light. Finishes in a muscular manner, lengthy and with presence. A commanding style of shiraz. Some mystery here. Would be fascinating to see this in 10 years’ time. A singular, savoury style of shiraz. Improves as it aired; second day open, it has evened out, harmonious and very powerful. Fleshy, ripe red and black fruit flavours. Really delicious. What a surprise, particularly with airing.
