Top rated user wines this month

Let’s open the books and compare notes on the most interesting wines that you, the Corkscore users, rated this month:

Capercaillie The Clan 2002
  99 / 100 @ A$30
“One of our favourite wineries of the Hunter”
At 99 points this user must have had a knockout experience :-) ... Capercaillie is indeed one of the gems in Hunter Valley. For “The Clan”, owner and winemaker Alasdair Sutherland follows a “best of Australia” philosophy. He brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot from wherever they grow best. The lot is finished in French oak. Check out the current 2007 vintage, which also got high ratings.

Mike Press Wines Adelaide Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
       92 / 100 @ A$10
“Beautiful and great value. Slightly green.”
Ok, times are tough, so if you are looking for that super value for money deal, look no further. Pitched at just A$10, this must be one of the best bargains available at the moment!
And 2007 was a very good year in the Adelaide Hills. Mike Press originally planted his vineyards to become a grape supplier, but started selling his own wines when grape prices soured in the late 1990s. A big thanks from the Corkscore crowd to Mike for keeping prices around the A$10 dollar mark!
